Elebrating 10 years of Vietnam Social Work Day: when compassion goes hand in hand with innovative thinking

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Vietnam Social Work Day (March 25, 2016 – March 25, 2026), ASIF Foundation respectfully extends its sincere appreciation to all social work professionals — those who have been steadfastly contributing to a more equitable and compassionate society.

Over the past decade, although social work remains a relatively emerging field in Vietnam, it has gradually affirmed its essential role within the national social protection system. At ASIF Foundation, we recognize that this journey requires not only dedication, but also innovative approaches to enhance both effectiveness and long-term sustainability.

We believe that for compassion to create lasting impact, it must be accompanied by forward-thinking and innovation.

The “Empowering You” project, implemented by ASIF Foundation in partnership with Thao Dan Social Enterprise, is a reflection of this commitment. Beyond providing scholarships and essential support, the project aims to build a comprehensive support network — connecting social workers, families, and schools to collectively support children in vulnerable circumstances, enabling them to pursue their education with stability and confidence.

In parallel with direct interventions, ASIF Foundation places strong emphasis on strengthening the capacity of social work practitioners. In response to the 2026 theme, “Professional Creativity – Breakthrough Transformation,” ASIF recently organized a training workshop titled “AI Applications in Nonprofit Operations” for the Thao Dan team and partner organizations.

Through the program, participants were introduced to foundational AI concepts and engaged in practical applications such as report writing and document analysis. The outcomes demonstrate that when applied appropriately, technology can significantly improve operational efficiency — allowing social workers to dedicate more time and energy to their core mission: supporting and accompanying people.
