Job description
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a key leadership role, overseeing the organization’s operations and programs. The COO will manage the internal systems of ASIF Foundation, ensuring effective execution of programs, strategic alignment with our mission, and optimal resource management. This position will drive operational efficiency and programmatic success, ensuring measurable social impact.
Main Accountabilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Organizational Operations
• Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to define and implement the strategic vision of the organization.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, including finance, human resources, IT, and administrations, ensuring operational systems effectively support program activities.
• Develop and refine internal policies, systems, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and sustainability.
• Monitor and evaluate operational performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
2. Program Design, Implementation & Evaluation
• Lead the design and execution of high-impact programs aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
• Oversee the development of program strategies, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Ensure that programs are effectively managed, with resources allocated efficiently, timelines met, and outcomes evaluated.
• Implement robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) mechanisms to assess program impact, integrating lessons learned into future program planning.
3. Financial & Resource Management
• Lead the financial management of the organization, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently across operational and programmatic needs.
• Oversee the development and management of program and organizational budgets, ensuring financial accountability, sustainability, and transparency.
• Spearhead fundraising and resource mobilization efforts, securing financial support from donors, partners, and grant-making institutions.
• Implement financial oversight mechanisms to ensure all expenditures align with strategic objectives and are properly justified.
4. Leadership & Staff Development
• Provide strong leadership and direction to the senior management team, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals.
• Lead recruitment, training, and capacity-building efforts for staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and results-oriented organizational culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Mentor team members, providing them with the resources and support necessary to excel.
5. External Relations & Advocacy
• Represent the organization externally, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and partners.
• Advocate for the organization’s mission, enhancing its visibility and credibility within the social impact sector.
• Develop and maintain strong, long-term partnerships that contribute to the sustainability and success of the organization’s programs.
• Promote the work of ASIF Foundation through speaking engagements, media appearances, and other platforms to increase support and visibility.
6. Risk & Compliance Management
• Identify and manage operational and programmatic risks, ensuring the organization is prepared for challenges.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, financial, and regulatory requirements related to operations and programs.
• Implement strategies to mitigate potential disruptions to operations, programs, and partnerships.
7. Other duties
• Perform any other duties as required by the management to support the organization’s mission and goals.
Requirements
1. Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in international development, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 7-10 years of senior management experience within NGOs or nonprofit organizations, with a proven track record in both operational management and program leadership.
Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale, high-impact programs.
Experience in financial management, including budget development, resource allocation, and donor relations.
Solid experience in fundraising, resource mobilization, and managing complex donor relationships

Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving: Strong strategic planning, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities to address challenges and drive impact.
Risk & Compliance Management: Knowledge and experience in managing risks and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Communication & Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders
Cultural Competence: Sensitivity to the cultural and socio-economic dynamics of the communities served by ASIF Foundation.
Languages: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Vietnamese or other relevant languages is an asset.

Australasia Social Impact Foundation (ASIF FOUNDATION) is an international non-governmental organization established in Australia in 2018 and operating in Vietnam since 2020. It was founded with a vision towards a professional and sustainable philanthropic ecosystem and currently has 3 main activities: connecting domestic and foreign resources, accompanying non-profit organizations and social enterprises, and coordinating community development projects in Vietnam.
